TMG Names Victoria Gomelsky Editor in Chief of JCK Magazine and JCKonline.com

Sep 28, 2010

New York, NY (Sept. 28, 2010) – Following an extensive search for an editor in chief with the perfect mix of jewelry industry expertise and publishing excellence, TMG has named Victoria Gomelsky to helm JCK magazine, the 140-year-old industry bible.

Ms. Gomelsky will oversee JCK’s editorial staff and manage the content strategy for JCK magazine, JCKonline.com and JCK’s digital extensions.

Victoria has more than 10 years of experience in covering this luxury b2b category. Prior to JCK, she served for five years as editor in chief of Couture International Jeweler, a Geneva-based trade journal owned by Nielsen Co. and targeted to retailers of high-end jewelry and watches. The role required her to travel the world in search of stories spotlighting business and design trends shaping the global luxury goods industry. Before that, she was a senior editor at National Jeweler, a trade publication based in New York. Ms. Gomelsky currently divides her time between Los Angeles and New York.

In 2007, Victoria was named Trade Press Editor of the Year by the Jewelry Information Center in New York for exceptional coverage of the fine jewelry and watch industries. She began writing for the special sections of the International Herald Tribune in 2006, specializing in watches, jewelry and luxury gifts. That same year, she won the annual award in Editorial & Reporting at the Women’s Jewelry Association Awards For Excellence.

“With Vic at the helm, JCK is positioned to take this brand to new heights of excellence in print and online,” said Kim Caviness, TMG’s vice president, content. “She is not only an award-winning writer and editor, but she also understands the ins and outs of the jewelry industry, a truly unique and complex segment in the marketplace. We’re so thrilled to have her on our team.”

Reed Exhibitions, which acquired JCK magazine and its online extensions from its sister company, Reed Business Information, tapped TMG to publish JCK magazine and JCKonline.com on its behalf.
